I think it will if latched down and compressed. I wish it had provisions for a shoulder strap. I may add those later. It goes well with my Filson duffle and is close to it in quality. Maybe slightly lighter materials than the Filson but close.

I read the reviews and did a little research. First I found some online stores that listed it at near the MSRP! The STP price was a deal by comparison. My hesitation paid off and I picked it up for even less when it was offered up on the 24 in 24 deal.
If you image search this bag, you will see the lobster clip version which is what I got and what I preferred. The base is 18 in. but it tapers up such that the top zipper length is 24 inches making it plenty roomy. The bottom is completely covered in leather with generous leather trimming along the top and sides. If I could attest to the durability, I'd give it the last star. -

It's not. Bag is beautiful with a full leather bottom and a lot of attention to detail. Very well made in the USA and has quality that you don't see in a lot of Carhartt products these days. Great purchase and deal.

The bag that arrived has lobster clasps (instead of the leather straps pictured) that attach the top flaps to the sides at an attachment point at the very bottom of the sides of the bag, instead of midway down the exterior as pictured. This difference greatly decreases the interior volume when the flaps are attached to the sides.The bag delivered is also missing the leather piping around he perimeter of the ends that is designed to provide strength to the ends. If you really want the bag pictured, you will be dissapointed with what arrives. If you just want a bag that seems well constructed, there are definitely worse options out there. As always, caveat emptor.
